Onyedinma and Smyth could return for Wycombe against Sunderland

Wycombe boss Gareth Ainsworth hopes to have some key players back from injury for his side’s clash with Sunderland.
Fred Onyedinma and Paul Smyth could be in line to return having resumed training.
But Alex Samuel is expected to miss out despite returning to training, with Ainsworth believing he is a bit behind Onyedinma and Smyth in his recovery.
Nnamdi Ofoborh and Curtis Thompson are both out through suspension.
New Sunderland boss Phil Parkinson inherited no major injury problems from predecessor Jack Ross and will have a near full squad from which to choose for his first game in charge.
Duncan Watmore could make a first league appearance since the opening day of the season after finally recovering from a thigh injury.
Watmore played 89 minutes of the 3-2 leasing.com Trophy victory over Grimsby during the international break and will hope to force his way into Parkinson’s plans this weekend.
Fellow frontman Marc McNulty (hamstring) and midfielder Aiden McGeady (foot) were used as second-half substitutes in the 2-0 league defeat at Lincoln three days earlier, and the former also started the cup game as he looked to recover match fitness.
