Andy Cannon is available despite suffering a knock during a reserve-team game in midweek.
Striker Brett Pitman misses out, as he has done for the last three games, having not yet fully recovered from a niggling groin injury.
Oxford manager Karl Robinson will be without midfielder Cameron Brannagan but his knee injury is not as serious as first feared
Chris Cadden is fit to return after recovering from a hamstring issue.
The U’s have not tasted defeat in their last eight Sky Bet League One matches and were drawn to face reigning Premier League champions Manchester City in the quarter-finals of the Carabao Cup following victory over Sunderland on Tuesday.
Rob Hall can expect to feature at Fratton Park having scored Oxford’s goal against the Black Cats before the match was concluded via a penalty shootout.
