Brett Pitman boost for struggling Portsmouth

Under-pressure Portsmouth boss Kenny Jackett has received a timely boost ahead of his side’s League One clash with Southend.
Jackett will have Brett Pitman back in contention for the first time in three weeks after the striker recovered from a groin injury.
Otherwise Jackett will pick from the same squad as Pompey look to return to winning ways.
Oli Hawkins is making good progress on a foot injury but is expected to remain sidelined for at least two more weeks.
New Southend boss Sol Campbell is still without top scorer Stephen Humphrys due to a thigh injury.
But Campbell expects to be able to call on the services on defender Rob Kiernan, who missed Saturday’s defeat at Sunderland due to a migraine.
Nathan Bishop is expected to retain his place in goal after replacing Mark Oxley for the trip to the Stadium of Light.
Nathan Ralph has shrugged off the head knock he sustained at the weekend while Emile Acquah and Matt Rush will be looking to feature again from the bench.
