The message reads,

"Fast improvements @ aftgomes21 will come back even stronger - big hug".

The duo were part of the Portugal squad that won Euro 2016.

Gomes' horrific injury left a dark cloud over Sunday's game at Goodison Park and left everyone still on the pitch emotional.

Everton boss Marco Silva had words of support for his midfielder following the game.

Per The Mirror, he told reporters in his post match press conference:

"Andre will have all the support he needs. I am 100% sure he will become stronger as a football player and a man.

"He is a fantastic man and a fantastic professional. Our players are sad but the spirit we showed was a good answer."

Everton striker Cenk Tosun also recounted the events on the pitch as the awful scenes occurred.

Tosun, who scored an equaliser for the Toffees late in injury time, was heartbroken about the earlier incident and said it deeply affected everyone on the pitch.

Everybody is so sad inside," the Turkey international said

"Some players, they nearly cried. Andre was in shock.

"His eyes were open so big. He was crying, shouting and screaming.

"I just tried to hold him and speak to him. I tried to tell him to stay calm.

"We couldn't understand him. He was the one who had got the injury."

All football fans around the world will be hoping Gomes makes a full recovery and that he'll be back on the pitch as soon as possible.
