Much speculation has been made over his next move with talk of a switch to Napoli, Manchester United and even retirement.

Ibra even trolled fans by teasing a cryptic return to Spain that ultimately proved to just be a gambling promotion.

But Garber has hinted that the charismatic striker is in talks to seal a return to Italy, where he notched 148 goals across spells at Milan rivals Inter and AC, as well as Serie A champions Juventus.

In an interview with ESPN, he said: "Zlatan is such an interesting guy.

"He keeps my hands full, my inbox full, he’s a thrill a minute.

"You need to have those guys who are breaking through the clutter like David Beckham did in our early days.

"And a 38-year-old guy, who is now being recruited by AC Milan, one of the top clubs in the world, he’s almost set records with how many goals he’s scored over the last two years.

"He’s exciting on and off the field, he certainly keeps our hands full.

"At the end of the day I’d love to see him back but that’s going to be up to LA Galaxy.

"I’ve enjoyed the Zlatan moments, particularly when he speaks to me in the third person."

Ibrahimovic has spent the last 18 months in the MLS, and proved to be one of the league's main attractions as he scored 52 goals in 56 appearances for LA Galaxy.

United legend Paul Ince had called on the Swede to seal a return to Old Trafford so he can show the youngsters how to score goals.

Zlatan grabbed 29 goals in 53 appearances after joining the Red Devils in 2016 and helped them to win the EFL Cup and Europa League.

But Galaxy have not given up hope on keeping the star for another year, with the club willing to offer him £6m to sign on for another campaign.
