Anderson earns Doncaster replay after draw with AFC Wimbledon

Tom Anderson secured Doncaster a replay after they played out a 1-1 draw with League One rivals AFC Wimbledon.
The Dons, who knocked out West Ham a year ago en route to the fifth round, had the better of the early chances at Kingsmeadow, with Paul Osew curling wide and Terell Thomas firing narrowly off target from 25 yards.
Doncaster were denied an opener approaching the half-hour mark when loanee goalkeeper Nathan Trott brilliantly tipped Kwame Thomas’ header wide.
Joe Pigott put the hosts in front after 43 minutes with only his third goal of the season, the striker neatly glancing Luke O’Neill’s delivery past Seny Dieng.
Thomas should have doubled Wimbledon’s advantage shortly after half-time but headed wide when unmarked in the box.
Anderson earned Rovers a deserved replay when he rose highest in a crowded penalty area to meet Danny Amos’ corner after 63 minutes.
Trott parried Rovers captain James Coppinger’s low drive and Dieng acrobatically kept out Kwesi Appiah’s header late on as neither side was able to secure their place in round two.
