Late Joe Jacobson penalty enough as League One leaders Wycombe defeat Doncaster

Sky Bet League One leaders Wycombe left it late before an injury-time Joe Jacobson penalty edged them past 10-man Doncaster 1-0 at Adams Park.
A surprise midweek FA Cup replay defeat to Tranmere was put to one side as the Chairboys did enough to extend their unbeaten league run to 10 games.
Rovers had to battle for over 40 minutes a man down, thanks to Tom Anderson’s sending off following a rash challenge on Matt Bloomfield just after the break.
Chairboys striker Alex Samuel had squandered a trio of chances in the first half – missing the target with two presentable opportunities either side of forcing Seny Dieng into a good save.
Anderson then handed the hosts a one-man advantage with a terrible tackle on Bloomfield but Wycombe failed to take the opportunity until the closing moments.
Samuel was once again frustrated by Dieng as his header was tipped around the post just after the hour, while Jack Grimmer almost caught the goalkeeper out with a cross-shot that was tipped over.
However, in injury-time, Donervon Daniels pushed Adebayo Akinfenwa over in the box, with Jacobson sending Dieng the wrong way from 12 yards.
