Sunderland teenager Benji Kimpioka rescues late point at Coventry

Teenager Benji Kimpioka came off the bench to rescue a late point as Sunderland recorded a 1-1 Sky Bet League One draw at Coventry.
Coventry held the lead for most of the afternoon at the Stadium of Light, scoring after 26 minutes following a Chris Maguire mistake.
Maguire’s pass to goalkeeper Lee Burge was intercepted by Amadou Bakayoko who saw his shot saved, but the resulting Zain Westbrooke corner was headed across goal by Michael Rose for Dom Hyam to head home from close range.
It was the highlight of a dour first half at the end of which Sunderland were booed off.
Their frustrated fans had little to cheer for most of the second half too as Phil Parkinson’s men laboured.
Aiden McGeady hit a powerful shot that Coventry goalkeeper Marko Marosi got his body behind to stop, but that was almost as good as it got for the beleaguered Black Cats.
But 19-year-old Kimpioka replaced Will Grigg after 83 minutes and stabbed the ball home after a spot of head tennis inside the penalty area at the death.
