Rooney stunner helps Barrow stay top

Vanarama National League leaders Barrow kept their place at the summit thanks to a 2-1 win over Barnet.
Ephron Mason-Clark’s volley was just wide of the far post in the 13th minute for Barnet shortly after Dior Angus’ effort for the hosts was palmed away.
But the Bluebirds took the lead in the 27th minute when Josh Kay rifled the ball into the net.
Barrow were 2-0 up within three minutes thanks to an unbelievable strike by John Rooney, who brought the ball down almost on the touchline and fired a half-volley into the net.
Kay flashed a good chance across the face of goal just after the hour mark before Jack Taylor netted a late consolation for Barnet when he capitalised on a defensive error to poke past Joel Dixon in the 85th minute.
Barrow are level on points with second-placed Bromley but have a game in hand.
