Dunfermline climb to fourth after win at Ayr

Kevin Nisbet’s second-half goal fired Dunfermline up to fourth in the Ladbrokes Championship table as Ayr fell to a 1-0 defeat at Somerset Park.
Dunfermline dominated the first half, with Ross Doohan repelling a Nisbet header from Lewis Martin’s cross in the 27th minute before keeping Kyle Turner out with a great save.
However, in the 68th minute Nisbet broke the deadlock by heading home from a Greg Kiltie cross to record his 11th goal of the season.
Mark McKenzie looked to respond quickly for Ayr but, after controlling the ball well in the box, the Pars defence blocked his strike.
