Marco Silva sacked!

Everton have sacked manager Marco Silva.

The Toffees have endured a run of eight defeats in 11 matches which has left the club in the Premier League's bottom three.

The Portuguese has overseen a period of steady decline since early September and falling into the relegation zone after a humiliating 5-2 defeat in the Merseyside derby at Anfield proved the final straw for majority shareholder Farhad Moshiri and the club's board.

Former manager David Moyes, potentially in association with ex-player Tim Cahill, appears to be the front-runner for a return to the club he left for Manchester United in 2013 but his name is not universally popular with fans.

Jake Clarke-Salter latest

Pep Clotet insists Birmingham will do all they can to keep Jake Clarke-Salter in January.

Chelsea are reportedly ready to recall the defender next month if he does not see more action at St Andrew's.

Clarke-Salter has made just five league starts this term - including the last four games - but is set for an extended run in the side, with Marc Roberts likely to be out until January after suffering an ankle injury against Millwall on Saturday.

Clotet has been happy with the the 22-year-old's contribution this term and wants to keep him for the rest of the season.

He said: "The club will have that discussion with Chelsea - probably the club will do everything in its power to hold onto him.”

Wilfried Zaha talks

Chelsea have stepped up their interest in Crystal Palace star Wilfried Zaha.

The Ivory Coast international was heavily tipped to leave Selhurst Park earlier this year but both Everton and Arsenal refused to meet his £70million valuation.

Now, The Independent claim Frank Lampard’s side have opened talks with Zaha’s agent Federico Pastorello.

It’s claimed Pastorello has spoken with Chelsea’s director of football Marina Granovskaia about a potential transfer next summer.

Ousmane Dembele talks

Chelsea have held talks with the agent of Barcelona star Ousmane Dembele.

The Blues will soon learn whether they can make any signings in January, with the Court of Arbitration for Sport preparing to announce the result of their FIFA transfer embargo appeal.

And if they’re successful - Frank Lampard’s side are ready to splash the cash.

Dembele, 22, has failed to impress since his £89million move from Borussia Dortmund and Barcelona are reportedly happy to listen to offers.

Premier League champions Manchester City are also claimed to have held talks with the Frenchman’s agent.

Three-way battle

Arsenal and Liverpool are interested in signing RB Leipzig talent Karim Adeyemi.

Adeyemi, 17, is enjoying a profitable loan spell with Austrian second division side FC Liefering - netting 11 goals and providing nine assists in 17 appearances this season.

And his exploits haven’t gone unnoticed.

Barcelona are also scraping it out with the Premier League duo to sign the Germany Under-17 international.

Erling Braut Haaland release clause

RB Salzburg forward Erling Braut Haaland can reportedly be snapped up for a bargain transfer fee.

That’s according to German publication Bild, who claim the Norwegian talent has a £17million release clause in his contract.

Several European heavyweights are tracking the lethal 19-year-old striker, who has scored a phenomenal 27 goals in 20 appearances this season.

Manchester United, Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool and Barcelona have all been linked with Haaland, who was previously reported to be worth £85m.

Reinier Jesus interest

Barcelona have expressed interest in Brazilian sensation Reinier Jesus.

However, the Catalan giants fear he will be too expensive to land.

Reinier, 17, is considered one of the brightest prospects in world football despite scoring just four goals in 14 competitive appearances for Flamengo.

The attacking midfielder has a £30million release clause in his contract - but Barcelona think that’s too high for a relatively unproven teenager.

Sadio Mane snub

Liverpool star Sadio Mane was approached by Manchester United to join the club in August 2015, but decided against the move because he didn’t want to play under Louis van Gaal, reports have claimed.

According to ESPN, Mane turned down Manchester United because he didn’t want to work with the Dutchman, who replaced David Moyes at Old Trafford.

Instead, they opted to sign Anthony Martial from Monaco and the Frenchman made a real impression during his first season in the Premier League.

"I was really, really close because I even met up with them,” Mane said. “So I was coming, I was there and I spoke with the boss who was there before [Louis van Gaal].

"They made an offer, but in the same week, Jurgen Klopp called me. For me I think it was the right time as well. I said, ‘I am going to Liverpool.’”

Paul Pogba problem

Some Manchester United players feel as though Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s tactical plans are too dependent on Paul Pogba, according to reports.

The France international has missed most of the season through injury at a time where Real Madrid and Juventus remain keen on a transfer.

According to the Independent, there are some at Manchester United who believe Solskjaer’s attacking template was entirely based on Pogba’s unique ability to ‘make the right passes at pace’.

The report says that some United players see ‘real merit’ in the tactics that Solskjaer chooses to deploy - but others believe they’re too dependent on Pogba.

Erling Haaland on OGS

Manchester United transfer target Erling Haaland was ‘very satisfied’ playing under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer at Molde, according to the player’s old youth coach Alf Ingve Berntsen.

The Red Devils are keen on Haaland amid their failure to replace Romelu Lukaku in the summer. The Belgium international was sold to Inter Milan for £73m but nobody was brought in.

And Berntsen has claimed that Haaland enjoyed playing under Solskjaer during their time in Norway.

"I know that Erling was very satisfied with Solskjaer at Molde," he told Bleacher Report. "They had a very good relationship. What part that might play in any negotiations, I really don't know. But it has to be a good thing that they previously had a good relationship."
