Scunthorpe manager Paul Hurst must check on Kevin Van Veen ahead of Saturday’s League Two clash against Plymouth.
Van Veen missed Wednesday’s 2-0 win away to Oldham through illness, opening the door for John McAtee to make his first league start for the club.
James Perch was able to play on New Year’s Day despite carrying an injury, while Jake Eastwood returned in goal after two games out with a groin problem.
The club are looking to extend Junior Brown’s loan from Coventry, with the 30-year-old having established himself as the club’s first choice left-back.
Plymouth expect to be without forward Dom Telford after he suffered a hamstring injury in Wednesday’s 2-1 loss to Swindon.
Ryan Lowe has said he expects to have a new signing available for the match – believed to be Bristol City’s Tyreeq Bakinson, who has been training with the club ahead of a proposed loan move.
Argyle are also looking to make Josh Grant’s loan move from Chelsea permanent, with the defender otherwise due to return to his parent club after the Scunthorpe clash.
Captain Gary Sawyer was an unused substitute on Wednesday after missing Sunday’s 2-1 win over Stevenage for personal reasons.
