Darren Moore confident Doncaster’s form can help attract new signings

Darren Moore is hoping Doncaster’s impressive form will help him strengthen his squad before the end of the month.
While unable to specify targets, the manager believes another eye-catching result will do no harm when it comes to making new signings.
Late goals from Ben Whiteman after 86 minutes and substitute Rakish Bingham in stoppage time settled a game of few clear chances and put Moore’s men just a point off the League One play-off zone.
Whiteman ran onto a through ball from Brad Halliday to shoot low past Jordi Van Stappershoef. And when Bingham curled in an exquisite right-footed finish it left his manager in buoyant mood.
Moore said: “We have a strong club, with a good infrastructure. Maybe I am biased, but I can’t think why anyone would think twice about joining us.
“Today we came here looking to continue our momentum and the lads have turned in an accomplished, professional performance.
“This can be an intimidating ground to visit and I was really pleased with the way we kept a hostile crowd quiet.
“I wanted a fast start and the players delivered it. Bristol are a club in transition, with a new manager, so I wasn’t surprised we dominated possession.
“We had to be patient because they got a lot of bodies behind the ball. But we kept on knocking at the door and finally it opened.
“There are areas we can work on, but I’m pleased with the way things are going.”
Ben Garner, still looking for his first win after six games as BristolRovers boss, left the post-match press conference to first-team coach Kevin Maher.
He said: “It was a better performance from us in the second half, so it was disappointing to concede twice at the end.
“We couldn’t get on the front foot in the first half and allowed them too much of the ball.
“But we managed to get forward to greater effect after the interval and had some good periods.
“We are going through a blip in form and no one can deny that. We have to give the fans something to cheer.
“Today there weren’t enough goal attempts or balls into the box and the supporters have every right to express frustration.
“We aren’t scoring enough goals and that is something we have to work on.
“Ben is disappointed and desperately wants that first win. He hasn’t had a lot of time to work with the players because of the time of year and the number of fixtures.”
