Guardiola has options ahead of Palace visit

Manchester City have close to a fully-fit squad for the visit of Crystal Palace in the Premier League on Saturday.

Defender Aymeric Laporte and winger Leroy Sane are the only major absentees but both are close to returning after long-term knee injuries.

Laporte returned to full training earlier this month and Sane is also close to rejoining the squad.

Crystal Palace midfielder Max Meyer will miss the trip to the Etihad Stadium with an ankle injury sustained from the tackle that saw Arsenal’s Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang sent off in last weekend’s 1-1 draw.

The German joins captain Luka Milivojevic (suspension), Mamadou Sakho, Patrick Van Aanholt (both hamstring), Jeffrey Schlupp (hip), Andros Townsend (groin) and Christian Benteke (muscle) on the sidelines.

Boss Roy Hodgson had centre back Scott Dann back on the bench on Saturday following a recent calf injury and right-back Joel Ward returned to training this week after recovering from a knee injury.

Man City provisional squad: Ederson, Bravo, Walker, Cancelo, Otamendi, Stones, Garcia, Fernandinho, Angelino, Mendy, Zinchenko, Gundogan, Rodri, De Bruyne, D Silva, B Silva, Mahrez, Foden, Sterling, Aguero, Jesus.

Crystal Palace provisional squad: Guaita, Ward, Tomkins, Cahill, Riedewald, McCarthy, Kouyate, McArthur, Ayew, Zaha, Tosun, Hennessey, Kelly, Woods, Dann, Pierrick, Daly, Kirby, McGregor, Boateng, Henderson.
