New signing Tyler Smith could be handed his debut for Rochdale in their Sky Bet League One clash against Gillingham.
The Sheffield United striker, 21, agreed a loan deal until the end of the season and is set to feature after joining up with his new team-mates at the beginning of the week.
Callum Camps and Robert Sanchez are both sidelined with groin injuries.
But Oliver Rathbone and Ryan McLaughlin are expected to be available after recent injuries.
Gillingham boss Steve Evans has confirmed midfielder Matty Willock could be in contention for a first start since the end of August.
Former Manchester United youngster Willock is under consideration after a full week in training following hamstring and knee injuries.
On-loan Southampton defender Thomas O’Connor is likely to be out for at least a fortnight with a hamstring injury.
Mikael Ndjoli has returned to parent club Bournemouth before joining Motherwell, while Ousseynou Cisse has gone to Leyton Orient on loan. New signing John Akinde is set to be on the bench.
