Cove Rangers stay five points clear at top

Scottish League Two leaders Cove Rangers won 2-0 at home against Annan.

Mitch Megginson’s goal gave them the half-time lead. The table-toppers had to wait until five minutes from time for some breathing space, which was provided when Jamie Masson struck.

Edinburgh City remain five points adrift of top spot after coming from behind to win 2-1 at Stenhousemuir, who led through David Hopkirk’s early effort.

However, second-half goals from Danny Handling and Scott Shepherd turned the game on its head, with Stenhousemuir’s Andy Munro sent off late on.

Cowdenbeath were 3-2 winners at home against Brechin. Jordan Allan and Archie Thomas put the Blue Brazil in control at the break but quick-fire goals from Paul Allan and Douglas Hill levelled things up around the hour mark.

Defender Craig Barr restored the hosts’ lead 15 minutes from time with a fine free-kick and his strike proved to be decisive.

Shane Sutherland and Kane Hester were on the scoresheet in Elgin’s 2-1 victory at Stirling, who pulled a goal back courtesy of Jordan McGregor.

Albion squandered a two-goal lead to draw 2-2 at Queen’s Park. Declan Byrne and Ouzy See struck for the visitors, only for David Galt and Salim Kouider-Aissa to bring the match level.

Aron Lynas was sen off for Albion in the 85th minute but they had a chance to win it two minutes later. However, Byrne’s penalty was saved by William Muir.
