Devante Cole could make Rovers debut against Southend

New signing Devante Cole could make his Doncaster debut against Southend.

Cole, the son of former Manchester United striker Andrew Cole, is eligible for the game after moving to Rovers on a permanent deal from Wigan.

He spent the first half of this season on loan at Motherwell, and Rovers manager Darren Moore could be tempted to hand him an immediate start.

Moore, meanwhile, will need to assess Kieran Sadlier, who missed last Friday’s 0-0 draw at Sunderland because of a broken nose and concussion.

Southend, despite only Bolton being below them in the table, will arrive at the Keepmoat Stadium unbeaten in four Sky Bet League Two games.

They kept that run going with a 2-1 victory over Accrington on Saturday, which gave manager Sol Campbell his first league win since taking charge.

Campbell looks unlikely to tinker with the team that edged out Accrington thanks to goals from Charlie Kelman and Jason Demetriou.

And Southend also have the added incentive of trying to avenge a 7-1 drubbing off Doncaster when Rovers visited Roots Hall earlier this season.
