Queen of the South suffered a third successive home defeat as Dunfermline claimed a 3-2 win at Palmerston Park.
The hosts took an early lead when Stephen Dobbie latched on to a long ball and found Gary Oliver, who converted from close range.
Dunfermline drew level after 14 minutes when Gabby McGill headed in following a scramble at a corner.
The visitors went ahead on the stroke of half-time as Danny Devine headed home a Dom Thomas corner.
Queen of the South levelled when Dobbie was awarded a 59th-minute penalty and the former Swansea and Blackpool forward converted from 12 yards.
However, the Pars won it eight minutes from time when a Thomas corner was converted for the third time – this time Lee Ashcroft providing the header.
