Injury issues for Tranmere ahead of Pompey visit
Posted Friday, February 07, 2020 by PA
Tranmere remain without a host of players through injury as they prepare to welcome Portsmouth to Prenton Park.
Micky Mellon’s side are aiming to bounce back from a crushing 3-0 home defeat against Doncaster on Tuesday.
However, Morgan Feeney, Corey Blackett-Taylor, Ollie Banks, Mark Ellis and Evan Gumbs are all unavailable for Rovers.
Peter Clarke is also a doubt for the home side.
Pompey will be without striker Oli Hawkins, who sustained a concussion while playing in the reserves’ 2-1 loss at Exeter on Tuesday.
Midfielder Bryn Morris is still undergoing rehabilitation following an abdomen problem.
Brett Pitman, meanwhile, has reportedly returned to former club Bournemouth to train with the club’s Under-23 side having not played for Pompey since December.
Portsmouth are chasing promotion and are riding high after four consecutive Sky Bet League One wins.
