Manchester United star Fred is clearly enjoying the Premier League's maiden winter break as he jet-skis and eats well in the Maldives.

The United midfielder is spending time away from Manchester on a second honeymoon having married Monique Salum back in 2018.

They originally tied the knot in a private ceremony before holding a bigger celebration last July.

The pair have both been busy on social media while away with the couple staying in a floating villa. They have also enjoyed a romantic dinner on the beach while Fred was also filmed dancing in the pool.

It seems Fred is keen to keep his energy levels up too with plenty of posts on Instagram of exotic food being lined up.

And Fred was also seen jet-skiing across the Indian Ocean with Monique hitching a ride too.

Fred and Monique are staying in a £3,500 a night luxury villa, complete with a huge water slide that connects their accommodation to the blue sea.

And, just in case the sea feels like too much effort, the villa also has two pools - one inside and one outside.

Fred is enjoying his time away having picked up United's Player of the Month award in January.

United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer said: "I'm very pleased with Fred. He's a top, top performer.

"All the supporters can see now why we believe in him. He covers every blade of grass on the pitch and wins challenges."

Fred had struggled during his first season at United but has blossomed in his second campaign.

The former Shakhtar Donetsk ace recently said: "My first season was difficult but that is normal when a footballer changes league.

"The Ukrainian league isn't as strong as the Premier League. It's faster and more physical here. You need to start games strongly and finish them strongly.

"It's the full force for 90 minutes, but it takes time to adapt to English football when you come from Ukraine, even though I was playing against some of the best teams in the Champions League, but I believe I am adapting."
