Liam Hogan scored the winner on his Stockport debut as his side moved one point off the Vanarama National League play-off places following a narrow 1-0 victory over Bromley.
The 31-year-old centre-back, who joined County from Salford on a two-and-a-half-year contract this month, tapped in from a corner at the far post in the 53rd minute.
Hogan then became a hero at the other end of the pitch as he denied Bromley forward Michael Cheek what looked to be a certain equaliser in the 68th minute.
Stockport moved into 10th place in the standings, while Bromley slipped to eighth to sit one point better off than their hosts.
