Carlisle hold Crawley

Carlisle extended their unbeaten away run to five games with a well deserved 0-0 draw at Crawley.
Finishing proved the big problem as both sides missed numerous chances in the wind and rain.
Carlisle went into the game following a disrupted period during which their training pitch has been put out of use following the effects of Storm Ciara.
Crawley began on the front foot and former Carlisle striker Ashley Nadesan rattled the post with an angled shot after five minutes.
Reece Grego-Cox and Ollie Palmer both fired over before Carlisle had a let off when the unmarked Nadesan put a first-time effort wide from Josh Doherty’s cross.
Carlisle rarely threatened in the first half although striker Lewis Alessandra should have hit the target shortly before the interval when he shot over after keeper Glenn Morris had parried a Nathan Thomas shot.
Morris kept Crawley on terms shortly after the break by superbly denying Jon Mellish after a pass by Thomas.
United, with a strong wind behind them, became more of a threat and Morris twice made crucial saves to deny the dangerous Thomas.
