Coventry second after win at Rochdale

Coventry bolstered their bid for automatic promotion as goals from Michael Rose and Matty Godden gave them a 2-1 win at Rochdale.
Aaron Wilbraham pulled one back for the home side but Mark Robins’ men ran out worthy winners.
The Sky Blues were ahead just four minutes in, Liam Walsh’s cross from the left looping over Robert Sanchez in the Dale goal and picking out the run of Rose, who climbed above the back-pedalling defence to head home.
Dale were denied when Ian Henderson met Rhys Norrington-Davies’ cross and volleyed on target, Marko Marosi scrambling the ball onto the foot of the post.
Coventry doubled their lead in the 71st minute when the home side ran into trouble attempting to play out from the back. Fankaty Dabo intercepted a loose pass and fed Jamie Allen and when he picked out Godden, the frontman fired across Sanchez and into the corner of the net.
Dale kept the game alive when Wilbraham scored a scrappy goal just 60 seconds later but the visitors saw the rest of the game out comfortably to end the day in second place.
