Chelsea have tabled Kepa + cash offer for Atletico's Jan Oblak – El Chiringuito

As per a report from Spanish outlet El Chiringuito, Premier League giants Chelsea have tabled a bid for Atletico Madrid goalkeeper Jan Oblak, which includes Kepa Arrizabalaga.

Kepa struggling

One of the major talking points surrounding Chelsea of late has been the change between the posts at Stamford Bridge.

Up until recently, Spanish shot-stopper Kepa Arrizabalaga had stood as the Blues' undisputed first-choice.

Having begun to justify his hefty price-tag with a string of superb displays towards the end of the 2018/19 campaign, Kepa was expected to kick on and stake his claim as one of world football's finest goalkeepers this season.

However, this has since proven far from the case.

The 25-year-old has, particularly over the last couple of months, slipped into a major slump, which has resulted in him losing his place in Chelsea's starting XI to veteran Willy Caballero.

In fact, as of last month, the former Athletic Bilbao man was the owner of the worst save percentage of any Premier League goalkeeper this season.

Chelsea move for Oblak?

And, if the latest speculation stemming from Spain today is to be believed, then Kepa's dip in form looks set to cost him not only his place in Frank Lampard's starting line-up, but potentially at Chelsea altogether.

As per the aforementioned report from El Chiringuito TV, the Blues have today moved to replace Kepa, by including the Spanish international in a proposal for one of world football's finest shot-stoppers.

The individual in question is Atletico Madrid stalwart Jan Oblak.

El Chiringuito claim that Chelsea have offered up Kepa, along with €30 million, in an attempt to coax Oblak to the club this summer.

It remains to be seen, though, whether Diego Simeone and co are tempted by such a proposal.
