A daily clash: The rupture between Barcelona's board and the dressing room

It's not a secret that the relationship between the Barcelona players and board has deteriorated in recent weeks.

Both sides have been throwing darts to each other in public, with Sergio Busquets being the latest person to blast the club's squad planning.

"We have to face what comes with those who are here," he said after the 1-1 draw against Napoli.

"We have a small squad and unfortunately the planning has been like this."

However, Busquets wasn't the only Barcelona player to criticise the board.

"Those responsible already knew that the squad was short," Ivan Rakitic stressed.

Gerard Pique pointed out recently that "the results have always held up the club," while Lionel Messi also had his say when questioned about the club's planning.

"With what we have, it is not enough to win the Champions League," the Barcelona captain told Mundo Deportivo.

The Barcelona players are no longer willing to keep their mouth shut, as they believe that the club have leaked information to the media to defames them.

"I hope nobody tries to provoke fights that do not exist," Pique noted.

"We know the newspapers related to the club and the information that comes out, even if they are signed by other people."

Reports accused certain players of having enough power to dictate signings in the summer.

Barcelona sporting director Eric Abidal claimed in an interview that there were players who were not training enough under Ernesto Valverde, which played a part in the coach's sacking.

It took Messi less than an hour to publicly hit back at the Frenchman through social media.

"If you don't give names, you are tainting everyone's name," Messi wrote, among other things.

His response caused a new crisis and Barcelona's president, Josep Maria Bartomeu, had to intervene to appease the spirits.

However, another scandal emerged, with reports that the club had hired and PR company to discredit certain players and presidential rivals.
