Mansfield sweating on Matt Preston’s fitness ahead of Swindon game

Mansfield boss Graham Coughlan has challenged his side to “step up” as they welcome Sky Bet League Two leaders Swindon Town to Field Mill.
Coughlan believes his side are “ready to turn a corner” after a disappointing campaign which has left them languishing in the bottom half of the table.
Forward Alex MacDonald (knee) will miss out but could be back for next weekend’s Northampton fixture.
Defender Matt Preston (hamstring) will undergo a late fitness test but midfielder Kellan Gordon (back) is a definite absentee.
Swindon are still without defender Mathieu Baudry but manager Richie Wellens is optimistic he will be fit for the midweek clash with Scunthorpe next week.
Zeki Fryers is set to continue in defence as a result of Baudry’s absence.
Taylor Curran is back in training after a hamstring problem and midfielder Keshi Anderson is also in contention, with both set to feature in a friendly against Birmingham on Friday.
Otherwise Wellens has no fresh injury concerns ahead of the trip to Nottinghamshire, where the Robins could strengthen their league position with a third win on the bounce.
