Bristol Rovers midfielder Abu Ogogo misses the visit of former side Shrewsbury as he begins a three-match ban for his red card against Sunderland last weekend.
Liam Sercombe’s expected return after a month out with a shoulder injury is therefore timely as he could go straight into the starting line-up having trained all week.
Forward James Daly is still awaiting his debut having joined from Crystal Palace a month ago.
However, with just eight goals in their last 14 matches, manager Ben Garner may have to look at switching things up.
Shrewsbury boss Sam Ricketts is struggling with injuries.
On-loan Fleetwood striker Conor McAleny is sidelined with a hamstring problem and Ollie Norburn (knee) has been ruled out for the remainder of the season.
Captain Dave Edwards managed 83 minutes in the midweek defeat to Tranmere having been doubtful with an ankle injury and is likely to be pressed into action again.
Winger Shaun Whalley, out since the start of February, is close to fitness following a hamstring injury but may not be ready for the trip to Bristol, while youth team forward Charlie Caton has been training with the squad recently as back-up.
