Defender Richard Nartey to miss Burton’s game against Bolton

On-loan Burton defender Richard Nartey misses out again as Bolton visit the Pirelli Stadium in Sky Bet League One.

Nartey has already missed three games because of a calf problem, but the good news for the Brewers is that the 21-year-old is returning from his parent club Chelsea later this week following treatment to the injury.

Fellow defender Conor Shaughnessy, on loan from Leeds, hopes to feature after some time out as his muscular injury has shown signs of improvement.

Jake Buxton (rib) returned after over a month on the sidelines at Lincoln on Saturday, the 3-2 defeat marking the start of Kieran O’Hara’s six-game ban and Ben Garratt will deputise again in goal.

Bolton could be forced into the emergency loan market after goalkeeper Remi Matthews picked up an ankle injury in their goalless draw at AFC Wimbledon.

Academy product Matthew Alexander, 17, has provided back up to Matthews for most of the season and made his league debut against Coventry in August.

But bottom club Bolton, who are 22 points from safety with 11 games to play, could potentially utilise an EFL rule which allows clubs to sign a goalkeeper for seven days outside the transfer window.

Bolton skipper Jason Lowe misses out with a hamstring injury and striker Daryl Murphy is doubtful after hurting his Achilles against the Dons on Saturday.
