Blackpool to hand Gary Madine fitness test ahead of Tranmere game

Gary Madine will be checked before Neil Critchley’s first home game in charge of Blackpool against Tranmere.
Former Liverpool Under-23s manager Critchley saw his side draw 0-0 at Fleetwood on Saturday, when Madine was forced off early in the second half with a neck injury.
Joe Nuttall and Armand Gnanduillet, who recovered from a hamstring injury to be among the substitutes at Fleetwood, are challenging for starting spots, as is Jay Spearing after a recent concussion.
Ollie Turton could return to the squad after illness, but Jak Alnwick (arm) and Sullay Kaikai (groin/abductor) are likely to remain sidelined for the Sky Bet League One fixture.
Tranmere will assess midfielder Neil Danns after he was caught by a challenge in Saturday’s 2-1 victory at Accrington.
Danns was a second-half substitute at Accrington and Rovers boss Micky Mellon could name the same starting XI.
Mellon has no other fresh injury doubts, aside from loan signing Morgan Feeney remaining at parent club Everton as he recovers from a hamstring injury.
Tranmere are six points from safety but have two games in hand on AFC Wimbledon, and back-to-back away wins for the first time in 12 months has given them fresh hope of avoiding relegation.
