Chelsea are considering a bid for Juventus star Miralem Pjanic but face competition from Paris Saint-Germain for the Bosnian midfielder.

Chelsea are reportedly weighing up a bid for Miralem Pjanic as Frank Lampard considers his options ahead of the summer transfer window. Paris Saint-Germain are also keen on the experienced midfielder, who could be sold by Juventus at the end of the season.

Chelsea are believed to have money to spend on reinforcements this summer as they capitalise on the lifting of the transfer ban which prevented new signings before the start of the current campaign.

The Blues have already secured a ï¿¡33million deal with Ajax for Hakim Ziyech but are now being linked with an eye-catching move for Pjanic, according to reports from Italy.

Calciomercato claim Chelsea are showing interest in the 29-year-old, who has three goals and four assists across all competitions for Juventus this term.

But they face a battle for the Bosnian’s signature with PSG believed to be front of the queue.

Juventus do not necessarily wish to sell Pjanic but the Serie A giants are reportedly in need of revenue from player departures in order to fund their planned spending in the summer transfer window.

Pjanic is not considered indispensable by Juve, and the star midfielder is thought to favour a return to France – where he spent his formative years – if he does leave the Allianz Stadium.

Chelsea see Pjanic as a potential replacement for Jorginho, who has been linked with a move back to Italy.

The 28-year-old could be set for a reunion with former Blues boss Maurizio Sarri, who was also his manager at Napoli and is now in charge at Juventus.

However, a deal may not come to fruition if Chelsea baulk at Pjanic’s price tag.

Juventus reportedly value their star man somewhere in excess of €60m (ï¿¡51m) while his current wages are considerable.

The midfielder’s contract runs until 2023 so Juve will not be pressured into selling at a knock-down price.

Any move Chelsea make could therefore depend on the success of their other transfer pursuits, with Lampard having been linked with a host of targets across all positions.

A new goalkeeper is considered a priority if Kepa Arrizabalaga is moved on, with Real Madrid reportedly interested in the 25-year-old.

Arrizabalaga became the world’s most expensive goalkeeper when he moved to Stamford Bridge from Athletic Bilbao for ï¿¡72m in 2018, but Chelsea are already supposedly considering Jan Oblak, Marc-Andre ter Stegen, Andre Onana, Dean Henderson and Juan Musso as potential replacements.

Meanwhile, Ben Chilwell and Alex Telles have been touted as potential reinforcements at left-back while Chelsea are also monitoring Marc Cucurella.

And a new attacker is also high on the priority list with Lampard weighing up an ï¿¡85m bid for Leon Bailly while Moussa Dembele and Lautaro Martinez are also on the club’s radar.
