Ighalo staying at Man Utd in doubt as Shanghai Shenhua demand huge fee

Manchester United are facing a battle to keep Odion Ighalo.

Shanghai Shenhua expect the forward to return to the club in time for the start of the new Chinese Super League season at the start of July.

United have been on extending Ighalo's loan deal until the end of the Premier League season, and possibly beyond.

However, Sky Sports says Shenhua would only agree to a permanent deal and want at least £20m for the Nigerian.

Newcastle are thought to be intereted in Ighalo if their proposed takeover is completed.

Ighalo, 31, scored four times in eight appearances for United before the coronavirus pandemic halted games.
