Jamie Carragher took aim at his Sky Sports colleague Gary Neville as Liverpool won the Premier League title.

Jamie Carragher wasted no time lauding Liverpool's Premier League title win over rival-turned-friend Gary Neville. The Liverpool hero was ecstatic as Chelsea's 2-1 victory over Manchester City on Thursday night handed the crown to Jurgen Klopp's Reds.

And Carragher quickly took to Twitter to share a doctored photograph of Manchester United legend Neville 'celebrating' with a bottle of champagne.

The picture, which featured a smirking Neville with a Liverpool shirt edited onto him, is a screengrab from a video originally posted by the former right-back earlier this year as he enjoyed the Reds' hopes of an unbeaten season being ended at Watford.

Carragher and co. have had the last laugh, though, with Liverpool's 19th top-flight title compounding what has been a miserable era since Sir Alex Ferguson left United.

Carragher was not done there, with the Anfield icon sharing a video put together by Sky Sports to troll Neville.

Neville had previously joked he might have to "move to Papua New Guinea or somewhere" if Liverpool were to win the Premier League title.

And the comical footage showed Carragher, Graeme Souness, Geoff Shreeves and other Sky Sports personnel trying to hunt Neville down as Liverpool's ascension to the throne was confirmed.

The clip ended with Carragher at an airport with a boarding pass for Papua New Guinea as he carried on his fictional search for runaway Neville.

In the wake of Liverpool's success, which has come with seven games of the season still to go, Carragher has admitted he thought his old side might never win another title.

"Jurgen Klopp arrived at Anfield saying he wanted to turn doubters into believers," Klopp told The Telegraph. "I was one of those who had given up hope on Liverpool winning the Premier League.

"It was shortly after my last meaningful title bid in 2009 that I started to lose my faith. The 2010 season was awful.

"Xabi Alonso had been sold to Real Madrid, Rafa Benitez’s team was unraveling, and the club was braced for another period of reconstruction.

"Reluctantly, I faced up to the disheartening conclusion a championship victory parade would never happen."

Liverpool are now just 14 points adrift of a century in the Premier League and have 21 left to play for this season.

They will be back in action next Thursday when they take on Pep Guardiola's dethroned City side at the Etihad.

City, and Liverpool's remaining opponents, will be expected to give Jurgen Klopp's men a customary guard of honour prior to their respective matches.
