Manchester City will look to add at least three new players to their squad in the summer transfer window.

Manchester City will give Pep Guardiola the green light for a £150million summer rebuild after seeing their two-year European ban overturned. The club saw their appeal against UEFA’s ban overturned by the Court of Arbitration for Sport in Lausanne.

With Champions League football now secured, the ruling will allow Guardiola to press ahead with at least three big-money signings this summer.

City have made plans to boost their defence with another centre half and a left-back.

They are also looking for a replacement for Leroy Sane, who left for Bayern Munich earlier this month and possibly a striker.

Having dodged a possible £200m black hole with the successful appeal they ready to now ready to splash the cash to improve their current squad.

Guardiola is keen to secure the long term future of young centre half Eric Garcia.

Bayern Munich’s David Alaba, Napoli centre half Kalidou Koulibaly are both on City’s radar.

CAS cleared City of UEFA charges for breaching Financial Fair Play rules and overturned the two year ban from European club football.

The Swiss court also reduced a fine from £28m to £8.9m.

City were cleared of breaching FFP rules but the CAS ruling said that they had failed to cooperate with UEFA’s initial investigation.

A UEFA statement said: “The CAS panel found that there was insufficient conclusive evidence to uphold all of the Club Financial Control Body’s conclusions in this specific case and that many of the alleged breaches were time-barred due to the five-year time period foreseen in the UEFA regulations.”

City firmly refuted any suggestion they were guilty of any wrongdoing.

A statement said: “The Club welcomes the implications of today’s ruling as a validation of the Club’s position and the body of evidence that it was able to present.”
