Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho is ready for a busy transfer window.

Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho will turn his attention to signing Bournemouth striker Callum Wilson after landing Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg. Spurs' transfer kitty was boosted after Mourinho's men secured a top six finish - and Europa League football for next season.

Mourinho wasted no time after the transfer window opened, with Spurs quickly moving for Southampton midfielder Hojbjerg.

Tottenham have agreed a deal worth around £15m for the 25-year-old, who was also wanted by Everton.

Spurs full-back Kyle Walker-Peters will move the other way for around £12m in a separate deal.

Following their move for Hojbjerg, Tottenham boss Mourinho is ready to sign a new striker as a back-up for Harry Kane.

And according to the Star, Bournemouth's Wilson tops their wishlist.

Spurs are the favourites to beat West Ham and Newcastle to the England international.

Wilson, 28, has told Bournemouth he wants to leave following their relegation to the Championship.

It's claimed the Cherries want around £20m for Wilson, however, Spurs are hoping to agree a cheaper deal.

Mourinho and co. feel Wilson is keen to head to north London and that'll help them drive Bournemouth's asking price down.

Wilson has three years remaining on his current contract at Bournemouth.

Mourinho was vocal on the club's transfer plans after they secured a Europa League spot for next season, with the Spurs boss insisting they will strengthen.

"What we can do of course is improve," he said.

"When all the players are available we showed in this last period where we belong. I don't know, maybe in this period, after lockdown, we finished third or fourth in the table.

"So that's where we belong. I want to have my team, my players, not a medical room full of players. I want a pitch full of players.

"Of course as a squad, the main thing is to keep our very good players and after that improve the squad.

"Are we going to buy 10 players? No. Are we going to buy players for £100m? No. We are going to improve.

"I enjoy working with Steve (Hitchen - Spurs' chief scout) in this organisation.

"We are very connected with (chairman) Mr (Daniel) Levy and the board and we're going to do what is possible to do and hopefully next season we can give it to the fans a very good season."
