Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer wants Ed Woodward to sign Borussia Dortmund star Jadon Sancho this transfer window.

Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has talked with Jadon Sancho, it has been claimed. The Borussia Dortmund star is the Norwegian’s top transfer target having blitzed the Bundesliga last season, scoring 17 goals and registering 17 assists. But Ed Woodward has found negotiations tough so far and now has less than a month to bring the 20-year-old to Old Trafford.

Manchester United have already made one signing this summer, with Donny van de Beek arriving from Ajax in a £40million deal.

But it’s an open secret they want to make one more at least, with Sancho currently the priority.

United have spent three years tracking the Borussia Dortmund star, watching from afar as he’s flourished in the Bundesliga and established himself as one of the most exciting talents in world football.

They’ve been in negotiations with Dortmund since securing Champions League qualification, beating Leicester 2-0 on the final day of the season to finish third in the Premier League table.

But they’re yet to strike a breakthrough, despite the teams agreeing to go about the deal in a more respectful manner.

However, despite that, journalist Fredrik A. N. Filtvedt has claimed that Solskjaer has talked with Sancho ‘several times’ about a move.

And it's claimed that he’s contacted Woodard, urging him to ‘fix’ the deal.

“Small update on Jadon Sancho: Solskjaer has talked to him several times,” Filtvedt said on his Twitter account.

“Sancho tops the club's wish list and even wants a transfer to United. Solskjær's simple message to Woodward: Fix it!”

Sancho is keen to make the move to United but he doesn’t want to rock the boat at Dortmund, being mindful and respectful of all they’ve done for him throughout his career.

He gambled when he left Manchester City for Germany in 2017 after being unconvinced by Pep Guardiola’s plans for him.

But he’s now open to returning to Manchester and the club have left the No 7 shirt vacant for him.

It’s last occupant, Alexis Sanchez, recently launched a stinging attack on the club by saying: “I want to tell you about my period at United, about many things that were said and that made me look bad.

“I got the opportunity to go to United and it seemed tempting to me. It was something nice for me, because when I was a kid I liked that club a lot.

“I ended up signing without much information about what was happening in the move. The first days that I was with my colleagues, sometimes there are things that you do not realise until you arrive.

“The first training I had I realised many things. home and I told my representative: ‘Can’t the contract be terminated to return to Arsenal?’

“They start laughing and I told them that something did not sit right with me. It had already been signed.”

Meanwhile, Darren Fletcher believes Sancho ‘ticks all the boxes’ for United.

He told The Metro: “At his young age, to be doing what he’s doing at that level of football is fantastic and there’s no doubt that he has got a bright future in the game.

“It’s clearly a position that Manchester United, I feel, have needed for a number of years now, somebody who naturally wants to play off that right-hand side.

“So, I think that it ticks all the boxes in that respect but – at the same time – these transfers are very, very difficult.

“Large sums of money in these times, there’s a lot of circumstances involved in it.

“It’s not just Jadon Sancho and his representatives, it’s Borussia Dortmund, it’s Manchester United and I’m sure there will be other clubs interested in him as well.

“He’d be a fantastic acquisition for anyone who gets him.”
