The highly-rated midfielder 18, is the grandson of club legends Mike Doyle and Glyn Pardoe.

Doyle made his senior City debut last October in the Carabao Cup against Southampton.

And his first Premier League appearance came against Newcastle in July.

But Doyle’s impressive rise had not gone unnoticed, with Leeds keen on bringing him to Elland Road.

The teenager’s City contract was due to expire in 2021, making him a free agent next summer.

But Pep Guardiola, said to be highly impressed with Doyle, has made sure his future remains at the Etihad by extending his deal for a further four years.

Doyle told City’s official site it was a “no-brainer” to stay put, adding that he is ready to fight for a place in the first team alongside fellow academy product Phil Foden.

Doyle said: “I see this place as my home. I have been here for so many years and to have been offered a new contract was a massive thing for me.

“Obviously, it was a no-brainer for me to sign but now it is all sorted I am so happy and ready for the start of the season.

“I have grown as a player and a person with the club. It means so much to me because I am a fan as well.

“I have been through so much with this club and obviously now being with the first team I am going to continue to learn even more off the manager, the coaching staff and the players.

“It is exciting times ahead for me and something I am looking forward to. I am very happy with my progress.

“I am just trying to use the staff and players as much as possible to get as much information and for me to grow as a player and person.

“I think the main thing is stepping out on that pitch and when I have done it I have loved every minute of it.

“Hopefully this season I can get some more appearances and keep kicking on.”

However, reports claim City face losing ANOTHER prodigy to Borussia Dortmund.

Jamie Bynoe-Gittens has been tipped to follow Jadon Sancho to the Bundesliga club, with a deal apparently just days away.

Meanwhile, City have been dealt a blow ahead of their season opener against Wolves with Sergio Aguero unavailable following knee surgery in June.
