Ousmane Dembele has been linked with a loan from Barcelona to Manchester United on transfer deadline day though the Catalan giants had requested he signed a new contract before a move

Ousmane Dembele is reportedly not happy after his move to Manchester United was blocked due to a Barcelona demand.

Dembele has been linked with a loan to Old Trafford as United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer scrambles to get deals done on transfer deadline day.

Alex Telles has been confirmed as a Red Devil while Edinson Cavani’s arrival is expected to be sealed before the 11pm cut-off.

Barcelona had not been allowing Dembele to leave the club on loan though it seems the La Liga giants had a change of heart.

Though they wanted Dembele to agree to a new contract, which would have seen him add another year onto his stay at the Nou Camp.

And though it’s Dembele’s choice to not accept that offer, renowned transfer expert Guillem Balague has tweeted that the player is not happy with the deal.

Earlier reports had suggested that Dembele left Barcelona’s training ground on Monday before training had actually began.

The French forward has been riddled with injuries since moving to the Camp Nou in the summer of 2017 and made just 75 appearances.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been keen to bring in a forward having been regularly linked with a move for Jadon Sancho while Cavani is set to join on a free.

Barcelona boss Ronald Koeman failed to rule out a Deadline Day move to United for Dembele, saying: "What is certain in the world? I don't know.

"At the moment, he's a Barcelona player. There's still one day left for incomings and outgoings. We'll see.

"I opted for [Francisco] Trincao, Pedri and [Miralem] Pjanic [off the bench vs Sevilla]. We needed more control and that's why I made these changes."

While Solskjaer was also tight-lipped on his transfer business, saying: “Well, we'll probably update you or we'll know by tomorrow night when the window's closed, but that [today's performance] isn't about getting players in.

“This is about who's here and getting the best out of the ones who are here and today was the worst that you can get from these. I can't say anything other than that.”
