Ryan Giggs to miss Wales matches amid arrest following alleged incident with girlfriend
Ryan Giggs will not manage Wales' next three games

Wales and Ryan Giggs have come to a mutual agreement for the manager to stand down from his position for the next three games following his arrest over an alleged assault on his girlfriend Kate Grenville.

Police were called to Giggs' home in Worsley on Sunday evening following reports of a disturbance.

The Manchester United legend was reportedly arrested at the scene before being bailed on Monday.

And Giggs will now not take charge of Wales' next three matches for the upcoming international break.

His representatives released a statement last night denying the allegations and insisting Giggs is cooperating with police.

The statement said: "Mr Giggs denies all allegations of assault made against him.

"He is cooperating with the police and will continue to assist them with their ongoing investigations."

The Football Association of Wales (FAW) confirmed that Giggs' assistant, Robert Page, would be taking charge of the upcoming matches.

The statement read: "The Football Association of Wales and Ryan Giggs have mutually agreed that he will not be involved in the upcoming international camp.

"Our agreed immediate priority is preparing the team for the upcoming international matches.

"Robert Page, with Ryan’s support, will take charge for the next three matches against the USA, Republic of Ireland and Finland supported by Albert Stuivenberg.

"The Cymru squad for these upcoming matches will be announced on Thursday 5th November.

"The FAW will not be making any further comment at this current time."

Wales first take on USA in a friendly next Thursday before two Nations League matches against Ireland and Finland.

They currently sit top of their Nations League group having picked up 10 points through their opening four matches.

Finland are Wales' closest rivals though as they're just one point behind.
