Jurgen Klopp has suggested that Mohamed Salah is happy at Liverpool despite transfer speculation.

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has hinted that Mo Salah is more than happy to stay at the club, despite reports linking the forward with a move to either Real Madrid or Barcelona. The 28-year-old is rumoured to be considering a move away from Anfield after refusing to rule out a move in a recent interview.

Salah told AS earlier this month that he sees the Spanish pair as 'top clubs', which sparked a host of speculation regarding his future on Merseyside.

I think Madrid and Barcelona are top clubs," Salah said. "We never know what is going to happen in the future, but right now I'm focused on winning the Premier League and the Champions League again with my club."

When pressed to provide more information, he replied: "That's a tough one, but right now I can say that everything is in the club's hands. Of course I want to break records here and, I repeat, every record in the club, but everything's in the hands of the club."

Klopp rested Salah for Saturday's 7-0 thrashing of Crystal Palace, opting instead to start Takumi Minamino before the Egyptian came off the bench to score a late brace.

The German boss has now revealed that Salah is in good spirits around the club and is showing no sign of pushing desperately for a move.

"We never speak [about contracts]," Klopp told reporters ahead of Liverpool's Boxing Day clash against West Bromwich Albion.

"Mo is in a good mood and moment, shape and that is the most important. You would have seen him laughing a lot [today].

"The rest is nice for you to write but internally, nothing really [to say]."

Salah has established himself as one of the Premier League's best players since joining Liverpool from Roma in 2017.

He has scored 110 goals in 173 appearances for the Reds, and was instrumental in helping the club to their sixth Champions League title in 2019 and the Premier League crown last season.

Liverpool under-23s coach Gary O'Neil echoed Klopp's comments earlier this week, claiming that Salah does nothing to give off the impression that he is unhappy at the club.

"I think you have to judge him on his performances and for me he doesn't look like a guy unhappy at Liverpool Football Club," O'Neil told Talksport.

"What I hear about how he trains and how hard he works he definitely doesn't give off the notion that he is unhappy."
