Celtic have reportedly lowered their asking price for in-demand striker Odsonne Edouard - which could tempt Arsenal into launching an offer.

Edouard has become a crucial member of the Hoops squad since arriving from Paris St-Germain in 2018, registering 72 goals and 35 assists in 151 appearances.

His impressive form at Parkhead has not got unnoticed, with Juventus emerging as potential suitors.

It is believed Arsenal are also keen admirers of the 22-year-old, but Celtic’s £40million valuation deterred them from making a bid over the summer.

According to journalist Ignazio Genuardi, though, the Scottish champions are prepared to lower their asking price for Edouard after failing to agree a new contract with him.

The France international’s current deal is set to expire in 2022, meaning Celtic have been trying to tie him down to an extension in recent weeks.

However, after struggling to reach an agreement they are now said to be “gradually revising” their demands and would accept an offer of around £22million to £26million.

Reports linking Edouard with a move to Arsenal have resurfaced of late after the striker became a client of The Stellar Group - the agency which helped arrange Kieran Tierney’s switch from Celtic to the Gunners.

Mikel Arteta is understood to be keen on bolstering his attack either this month or in the summer, with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette struggling for consistency.

Eddie Nketiah has also failed to impress in the first half of the campaign, scoring just one goal in 13 Premier League appearances.

But according to the Daily Mail, Arsenal could face competition from Leicester for Edouard’s signature.

The Foxes are said to be in the market for a new forward of their own in January after Islam Slimani completed his move to Lyon earlier this week.
