  • Intro:

Under pressure Chelsea manager Andre Villas-Boas will be desperate for his side to produce a convincing performance in the first leg of their Champions League last 16 tie against Napoli on Tuesday.

    Script:

Chelsea have been struggling to get off the ground lately.

Andre Villas-Boas is under pressure to get his side flying again as Chelsea are on a four match winless run.

But the Portuguese doesn't believe his job depends on the outcome of their Champions League last 16 tie against Napoli.

    SOUNDBITE (English)
    Andre Villas-Boas, Chelsea manager:

"I think from messages that you have received from the club and from the board recently or in the recent past, there is a clear indication there is a change on the way we approach the projects of the future. There is great belief in what we're going to do next year, sending out a team that will hopefully bring us to the biggest amount of trophies that we can. But that doesn't undermine the responsibility that we have towards this year."

Didier Drogba was rumoured to have led the half-time team talk during Chelsea's 1-1 draw with Birmingham City in the FA Cup on Saturday - a rumour the club denied.

However, the striker does believe the players should shoulder some of the pressure ahead of Tuesday's first leg in Naples.

    SOUNDBITE (English)
    Didier Drogba, Chelsea:

"I think we all are responsible for the results I think. Chelsea football club is responsible for the results and I think we all have to play our game and players have to play their game, so tomorrow is our chance. The good thing is in football is that there is always another game to change the bad moments, or the difficult moments, so tomorrow is one of those. And a good atmosphere, I think we have to go out and enjoy the game."

Villas-Boas has presided over the club's least successful spell since Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich took control of Chelsea in 2003.

But Abramovich is eager for Chelsea to win the Champions League - Tuesday's tie against Napoli offers Villas-Boas the chance to buy himself a little more time.
