Katie Futcher of the USA and Korean Jenny Shin both shot a five-under-par round of 67 to join a three-way tie for the lead with American Angela Stanford, after the second round of the HSBC Women's Champions in Singapore on Friday (February 24th).

Na Yeon Choi and Hee Young Park from Korea, and Ai Miyazato of Japan were also level, three shots adrift on five-under at the Tanah Merah Country Club.

The second round of HSBC Women's Champions took place in hot and humid conditions at Tanah Merah Country Club in Singapore on Friday (February 24th).

Top-ranked Yani Tseng shot a 72 to lie on one-under-par and seven strokes off the lead.

21-year-old Korean So Yeon Ryu finished her round on a one-over total of 73 - after making four birdies on the front nine, including this tee shot at the eighth hole.

Six players lie four shots off the lead on four-under, including Spaniard Azahara Munoz, Jiyai Shin of South Korea, and Shanshan Feng from China.

Three players were tied at five-under after the second round.

Korean Hee Young Park made six birdies over her round, including this one on the 11th hole, before carding a four-under-par 68 on Friday.

Japanese Ai Miyazato and world number two Na Yeon Choi both continued their good form as they tied with Park on a five-under total of 139 going into the weekend.

American Katie Futcher lies in a share of the lead on eight-under-par.

She fired six birdies and one bogey on Friday to reach 136, after this brilliant second shot to set up a birdie on the 10th.

Meanwhile, 19-year-old Jenny Shin had a great run on her HSBC Champions debut, and she also sank six birdies - including this one on the 14th.

They are now in a three-way share of the lead with first-round leader Angela Stanford, who shot a 70 on Friday.

The strong 63-player field includes 18 of the top 20 in world rankings.
