Greece train ahead of Belgium friendly

    The Greek national squad prepared on Monday for their friendly in Crete against Belgium on Wednesday.

    The squad includes two new players, attacking midfielder Costas Fourtounis and goalkeeper Orestis Karnezis, who both thanked the squad's Portuguese coach, Fernando Santos, for picking them.

    The Greek national team trained at the Agios Kosmas sports facility in Athens on Monday ahead of the friendly match against Belgium on the island of Crete on Wednesday.

    The weather was particularly chilly with the Portuguese coach of the squad, Fernando Santos, dressed to combat the effects of the bitingly cold wind.

    The squad includes two new players, 19-year-old attacking midfielder Costas Fourtounis, and the 26-year-old goalkeeper Orestis Karnezis, who was grateful for the opportunity. He said:

    "It's a nice experience, I am very happy to be here. I thank Mr Santos so much for this invitation as it is a very big honour for me."

    The 2004 European champions will open Euro 2012 when they take on co-hosts Poland on June 8th.
