Wenger, Dalglish reaction following Arsenal's 2-1 win at Liverpool in EPL

Two goals from Robin van Persie, the second in stoppage time, earned Arsenal a 2-1 Premier League victory at Liverpool on Saturday (March 3) to strengthen their claims of a top-four finish.

The Dutch striker volleyed the winner during eight minutes of added time, having headed an equaliser in the first half after Liverpool had gone ahead courtesy of an own goal from Arsenal centre-half Laurent Koscielny.

The only downside for Arsenal as they try and somehow turn around a 4-0 deficit in the away leg of their Champions League tie against AC Milan - an ever-worsening injury list.

Mikel Arteta picked up a serious neck injury - and Abou Diaby, Yossi Benayoun and Kieran Gibbs are also concerns.

Robin van Persie scored his second goal of the game in injury time to give Arsenal a 2-1 win at Liverpool in an English Premier League match the home side had dominated.

In the third of eight minutes of injury time, van Persie shot past goalkeeper Jose Reina at the near post to end Liverpool's unbeaten home record and strengthen Arsenal's chances of qualifying for the Champions League.

Arsenal goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny had saved a penalty and the rebound effort from Dirk Kuyt before Liverpool took a 23rd-minute lead through an own-goal by Laurent Koscielny.

Van Persie levelled the scores eight minutes later, heading in Bacary Sagna's right-wing cross.

The Dutchman has now hit 31 goals for Arsenal this season.
