CSKA Moscow midfielder Alan Dzagoev said on Tuesday that the Russian club's group-stage 2-1 win at Inter Milan indicates they can knock Real Madrid out of the Champions League and reach the quarter-finals.

Level at 1-1, the Spanish side will be at their home Bernabeu Stadium for Wednesday's second leg in the last 16 tie.

CSKA Moscow snatched a draw in the first leg of their UEFA Champions League Round of 16 clash against nine-time European Cup winners Real Madrid.

Cristiano Ronaldo's 28th-minute effort was cancelled out by Pontus Wernbloom in stoppage time, to leave the tie finely poised at 1-1.

On Tuesday, looking ahead to the second leg at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium, CSKA manager Leonid Slutsky said his side weren't intimidated by the Spanish giants.

"We are not scared. Players in CSKA are very experienced, they have all played many matches on different levels, therefore our main goal is to reach the Champions League last eight and not think about the result tomorrow or the amount of goals that will be scored".

CSKA warmed up for their latest European showdown with a 1-1 draw against Dinamo Moscow, while their Spanish opponents won 3-2 at Real Betis to stay ten points clear at the top of the Spanish table.

Madrid have been scoring freely on home soil this season.

CSKA, though, have their own danger man in the form of Seydou Doumbia, who scored his 25th league goal of the campaign against Dinamo.

And Alan Dzagoev believes his side will have a good chance in Wednesday's game.

"There is nothing impossible in life. If we have scored two at Inter before, of course we can score two against Real Madrid. Plus, it is no coincedence that we have gone this far. This just shows that we can play".

Slutsky won't be able to call on the injured Mark Gonzalez but Japan midfielder Keisuke Honda could be available again after a thigh injury.

Four Russian clubs made it to the knockout stages of the UEFA Champions League and UEFA Europa League this season, but CSKA Moscow are the only remaining survivors.
