Week 28 of the Premier League say Manchester Unied go top, while Black and Bolton recorded big wins.

Round 28 of the Premier League could prove to be a pvitol one come the end of the season after changes at the top and the bottom of the league.

We have new leaders at the top after Manchester City crashed to a 1-0 defeat at Swansea City on Sunday, Luke Moore's header proving decisive.

With City dropping points in Wales, Manchester United took full advantage to climb back to the Premier League summit with a win over West Brom, Wayne Rooney grabbing the first.

Rooney then added the second from the penalty spot to move United one point clear of their local rivals with ten games to go.

Despite United now having the advantage City boss Roberto Mancini is still optimistic about his team's chance of a first Premier League crown.

SOUNDBITE: (English) Roberto Mancini, Manchester City manager:

(Asked if he was keeping an eye on Manchester United's match - a 2-0 home win over West Bromwich Albion)

"well, this is not important. We are sure that we will fight against them until the end. We have another 10 games to finish this championship. The season is long. Every weekend changes the situation. Now, it's important that we are very compact together because don't change nothing. It's better to stay on top, but now we are.... behind, but it does not change our target."

In the race for fourth place its advantage Arsenal again after the Gunners came from behind for the fourth successive league game to beat Newcastle 2-1, who else but Robin Van Persie cancelling out Hatem Ben Afra's opener.

Thomas Vermaelen then scored the winner in stoppage time to move Arsenal to within a point of third-placed Tottenham following their 1-0 defeat at Everton.

Chelsea remain three points behind Arsenal in fifth after beating Stoke 1-0, Didier Drogba with the goal in Roberto Di Mateo's first Premier League game in charge of the Blues.

While Chelsea kept up their push for fourth, Liverpool find themselves 13 points off a Champions League spot after a 1-0 defeat at Sunderland.

On-loan Arsenal striker Nicklas Bendtner did his parent club a favour wih his goal as the Black Cats moved to within two points of the Reds in seventh.

Elsewhere, Bolton lifted themselves out of the relegation zone with a 2-1 win over Queens Park Rangers in controversial circumstances, the Hoops having been denied a goal when Clint Hill's header crossed the line, only for the assistant referee to miss it.

Blackburn did their bid for survival the power of good with a 2-0 win at Wolves, while Wigan picked up a valuable point at Norwich.

So at the top of the league Manchester Unied find themselves in a familar position at the summit, with Manchester City a point behind them in second.

Tottenham can also feel Arsenal's breath on the back of their necks after the Gunners moved to within a point of their rivals.

At the bottom it was a bad weekend for QPR and Wolves after defeats to their relegation rivals,

Blackburn are now three points clear of the bottom three but with ten games left play it could all still change.
