Tottenham Hotspur have finally ended their search for a new manager after confirming Andre Villas-Boas as their new head coach.

The 34 year-old Portuguese was fired from London rivals Chelsea last season following a poor start to their campaign.

    Script:

Andre Villas-Boas has been confirmed as the new head coach of Tottenham Hotspur.

He replaces Harry Redknapp, who was sacked by the English Premier League side last month.

The 34-year-old Portuguese will look to rebuild his reputation at a team that finished fourth in the top flight last season.

He's been without a job since being sacked by Chelsea in March.

Spurs will not compete in the Champions League after losing their place to Villas-Boas' old side.

Although Chelsea finished below Tottenham in the league, they qualified in their place after beating Bayern Munich in the Champions League final.

Spurs will now play in the Europa League, which Villas-Boas won with Porto in 2011.
