"We fouled off some pitches. You know Melky got a first pitch hit. Ryan just put the bat on the ball, that was a great at bat. The back breaker was Sandoval digging out that off speed pitch for three runs. With a nasty pitch. But your pitching against All Stars. I mean someone's liable to get you and we got him. I mean he (Justin Verlander) could pitch against us five more times and probably hold us scoreless for an inning or two. But I think sometimes you've got to just tip your cap. Our guys competed and they did a great job."
SOUNDBITE (English): Ron Washington. American League All-Star manager
"Well it's very disappointing because we're competitors and we want to win. But I think you have to tip your cap to the National League, they came in, they swung the bats and once they got a lead they brought in those arms they have. And they got the job done."
