"I thank God that I am in a good shape, I have no injury and this is what matters. Tomorrow I go into my quarter-final fight against a Japanese boxer. I am prepared, focused and fit to go into this fight."

"I was out of the competition from the first round, my ambitions were to win a medal for Algeria but things didn't go as I planned. The first round I was too eager so I got penalised by the referee who took points off me and gave them to my opponent, so I lost my concentration."

"I think the level of Algerian boxers is improving because of the training camps abroad in Europe and Asia. I think we are close to their standards."
