Intro:
The Red Bull Racing F1 team brought its running show car to the U.S. to shoot video aimed at raising the awareness of Formula One in the United States.Script:
I doubt many New Yorkers have made this commute to work.
David Coulthard was behind the wheel as the 2011 F1 Championship winning Red Bull car made the journey from New Jersey to Manhattan via the Lincoln Tunnel - and it was travelling at a mere 190mph, but that wasn't enough for Coulthard.
SOUNDBITE: David Coulthard (English)
"It's a weird attack on your senses when you're going fat and you've got the closure of the tunnel leading to a point. I was disappointed we weren't able to go faster. We managed to go 190 miles per hour, but I think it would have been great if we could have gone a bit quicker. But to have the opportunity to drive a Formula One car from New Jersey to New York is totally unique. Don't suppose I'll get that chance again. Don't suppose many people have actually done that. So yeah, I think we were probably the fastest to have gone through there."
American F1 fans were handed a further treat as the car demonstrated its surprising musical talents by performing a rendition of the United States' national anthem.
The stateside stunt was aimed at attracting US fans attention to the New Jersey Grand Prix on November 18th.
